A Visit to Aunt Sarah’s
December 16, 2006
Maddie and I are having a wonderful time at Sarah and Allan’s. It sure is busy with three little ones but we are having a lot of fun. We arrived on Monday evening and leave on Sunday morning. Time is moving all too quickly! Elijah is just took cute. He is so polite when he talks and he comes out with the funniest little comments. I wish family could be closer! Especially my sister…my best friend.
A New Little Neice
December 10, 2006
Wow! I can’t believe my little brother is a Daddy. The one I used to wrestle with and chase up and down the stairs. The same one I used to look out for with all that I had in me. Aaron, you have grown into an amazing man of God and I am so thankful for the gift that our Father has brought to you and Ashley. Aylah Maurrie is absolutely precious and I can’t wait to hold her! You will both be wonderful parents because God has given you all the tools needed, and his example of how to be a perfect parent, not that we will ever be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect. However, by looking to Him and following His example, He will help us guide our children down the straight and narrow. I love you all so much!
A Beautiful Gift
December 7, 2006
Francis, our friend and youth pastor stopped by tonight. He brought this beautiful frame with pictures of Maddie and a song written by Rich Mullins. Mullins’ friend had a daughter who only lived 16 months, however each time Rich Mullen saw the baby, she had her hands folded in a prayer position, and it was said that she was praying for all those around her. The song goes like this:
"Madeline fusses, Madeline laughs, the angel who watches says,
"Hey look at that!
There’s your faith -Mountains will shake
‘Cause God gladly bends
Just to hear Madeline when she prays."
Madeline streches, Madeline kicks, angels in heaven say
"Hey, look at this!
There’s your faith -Mountains will shake
‘Cause God gladly bends
Just to hear Madeline when she prays."
And the only angels that I’ve ever seen
Look like the tears on the face of the sky
Though it sure breaks your heart to see heaven all streaked up
With sorrows like theirs-so you know all the while
From where cobbles are golden like emeralds shine green
From where gems stud the streets and the walls
God looks out a window at us just to see
If anything frail as the sparrow should fall
God gladly bends
Just to hear Madeline when she prays.
Rich Mullins
Unfortunately, Rich never recorded the song. It is our prayer that Madelynn will grow up to have faith that will make mountains shake.
Thank you Francis, for your friendship and for the love you have shown to our little girl. You will be missed greatly by many people here in Yellowknife. God used you immensely to impact us and it is our prayer that he will bless you as you move on.
All Grown Up
December 4, 2006
Maddie is being held up by Mommy so don’t worry! She was so good getting ready for church this morning. We had a long day. A good but long day. We started it and ended it at the church. Mark was on sound tonight and I did decorations for a communion service. Maddie tagged along. She was very good. We kept her up past her bedtime but she is sleeping soundly now. We are so blessed. Check out other updated photos using the flickr link down and to the right of this page.
Yummy Plate
December 4, 2006
Maddie tried peas, carrots, banana pieces and a bit of cubed potato for lunch today. She seems to be enjoying the solids we put in front of her. The texture doesn’t seem to bother her at all. It is so fun watching her grow and change.
